Bump Up From Basics Beanie

It's been a challenge to come up with a reasonably fun knitting project that can be accomplished without any written instructions (or with a minimum of them, I guess), but I think the Bump Up From Basics Beanie will fit the bill. In my course, I will cover yarn selection and gauge and size selection, and then move on to cast on, knitting a ribbing, creating a fun detail, and then decreasing stitches to complete the hat. Oh, and finishing! The steps will include:

1. Long tail cast on & joining in the round.

2. Knitting a ribbing.

3. Adding a fun detail and continuing the ribbing.

4. Decreasing.

5. Finishing fun detail.

6. Finishing hat.

And 7, of course - posting a photo of the finished result!

Here's the outline:

And here's a sample video of a technique that I will be using in my project (but this isn't the actual project video because I already have a YouTube channel and I don't want to confuse my few followers by posting a video that already overlaps something up there... if that makes any sense):
