Brush Lettering, baby steps

Here is my lowercase alphabet, with plenty of room for improving, but I am content with the progress.

I struggled with the brush pen and I am not sure if it is my lack of experience with it, that it is not the right type or both. I think the brush is more sensible than what the teacher uses, but i don't own at the moment any brush pen like the ones suggested.

The biggest challenge was to make fluid strokes with the correct thickness. If i did slow strokes, i would have more control over the position and thickness of the line but it would look wobbly. If instead i made confident strokes, my lines would be smoother and better looking in general but I would lose control over the direction of the brush tip and the transition form thick to thin. I think in the end i managed to get a balance between both.
