Brunch For One

This Holiday season in Louisiana has been grey and humid. Christmas doesn't feel quite right when it's not cold outside, so I have to find other ways to get into the spirit of the season. I decided to make a cozy breakfast for this project. I'm still new to photography and have never tried any kind of food photography, so it was a little bit of a struggle, but I had a lot of fun with it.

The natural light in my double shotgun house is far from abundant, but I think it worked out okay for this shoot once I figured out how to work with it. I found a nicely seasoned baking pan to use as a backdrop and I used a couple of black poster boards for lighting and surfaces. I just bought these beautiful shibori tea towels from a friend of mine, so I actually based the whole photo off of the towels. My three inspiration words are: homey, cheerful, warm

This was a lot of fun. Thank you Marte Marie for the great class. Your work is beautiful. Any feedback is appreciated!
