Bridal Bouquet Practice

line flowers: snapdragon, veronica

big: white dahlias, cafe au lait dahlias

medium: garden roses,

small: poppy

detail: astrantia, clematis vine

texture: hydrangea, queen anne's lace

foliage: random bits from the backyard

I made this bouquet as practice for my wedding coming up in one month. My father and I grew all the flowers except the snapdragons in the garden.

I like the overall look, but only after several attempts. It was very hard to get a 'spread out' shape - I kept making it too high and tight. While I like the spiky look of the snapdragons, I'm not sure it was a good idea to insert them all at the same level of the bouquet. The dahlias were a challenge, too. Their heads are so heavy and needed a lot of support.

I found it very helpful to look in a long mirror and to take pictures of the bouquet. Thanks for your great instructions!
