"Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills." - Napoleon Dynamite
Developing skills often requires work with paper and pencils, so I researched vintage pencil and crayon cases. I was also thinking about the tones in the movie, and there are a lot of dusty browns, greens, and yellows. I want to keep this theme, so I was drawn to these colors and styles that are reminiscent of the old west.
Update: 6/25
I finished my lettering warm-up today. I'm a perfectionist through and through, so it annoys me when I know I'm not really good at something yet. I know that the only way for me to get better is for me to practice, but it's hard for me to keep up with something when I know I'm bad at it but can't fix my mistakes easily. But, alas, I'll press on!

I finally have sketches! I'm more inclined to the second one, but it could be because I decorated that one a lot more than the first. Let me know what you guys think!
Update: 7/16
Here is my final ink drawing! I can see where I need improvements, but I think I have definitely gained some skills from this experience. I'm excited to take Lettering II!
