Bouldering Essentials

This has been good fun (and good work) already! I stayed up until 1am last night making my sketches after work. Took my a few tries but I finally started getting the shapes and layout that I wanted.

Moving onto the scanning phase now.. will post more soon.

Thanks for the amazing class, Tom!

Update (screenshot): I'm getting somewhere! This is my first time really using the pen tool (I know you suggested going back and learning via another class, but I was too excited!).

I do have a quick question for you, Tom. After I create a shape and do the same steps you took to fill it — make sure the shape is selected, and click on the 'Create new fill or adjustment layer' at the bottom of the Layers panel, followed by 'solid color' — it fills the entire canvas instead of just the shape.

I've been Googling like a mad woman over here, but can't figure it out. I am now working around it by (when in pen tool) having the shape selected and going to the 'fill' tab at the top.

I am sure you're a busy man, so I understand if you don't have time to check this out, but if anyone else in the class has ideas, I'm all ears! Maybe it doesn't even really matter. Just curious.

Thanks again for this amazing resource!

Woo! Just finished up. What a fun little project. I've learned so much from you, Tom. I can't thank you enough. Great class!

Can't wait to keep experimenting with these new techniques. The main thing I would change with my work is the dog — it doesn't quite have that handmade, ecclectic feel I enjoy, like the Patagonia jacket. I'll have to keep playing around with that style. It's definitely what I am most drawn to.

Thank you again!
