Hi Charlotte, I really like what you've got going on here. The commas and quotes look almost like an aerial perspective of open books standing upright. At the same perspective you could also show people walking towards these "big" books to read them. This might help drive home the big book idea by playing with perspective and scale. Great work! I love your posters! The colours are great and the idea is amazing with those simple elements working together so well. I think I like this version the most, cause I also got confused about the three strokes. On the other hand, they really look interesting, so maybe using two would also work. 
Also, I would play a bit with the type. The word "books" in capital letters could be more fitting since it's about big books ;-) It looks a bit strange to me to have the "books" as the smallest part of the three words. 
I know this is a rather old project. But maybe getting feedback after such a long time helps, anyway. :-)

Take my comments with a grain of salt. I haven't trained as an artist, but I feel I have a good eye for things. So, when I first looked at this I instantly thought quote marks, but then I saw three and they were all going the same direction, so I got confused. What if you actually did it as quote marks, 2 on top, in the other direction and 2 on the bottom. Hi Donnovan, thanks for your feedback! Really appreciate you took the time to look at it and give useful advice! The marks are actually comma's. The first idea was to use small comma's as a background. But when I made them larger I thought it looked like a cool graphic effect. But you're right, it's for a viewer not clear what it is or why. I didn't thought of it that way, thanks for making me see it like that! A helpful learning point. I remade it. I'm not quite happy yet with the result. But it's just experimenting for me. Hope to one day do this as a profession, but still have a lot to learn ;-)
