This class has been one of my favorites of Ana's classes on Skillshare... however there is no way that I would have attempted it without taking her other classes. She is so great at building each class up in technique. In order to get to the level of detail and precision, you really need to take her other classes. Below is my warm up activities. I need to practice on my silver pieces. I really loved the way that the emerald baguette turned out.
The gem excersice was really fun too. I need to practice looking at diamonds/gems from where the sun or light source hits them. I don't think you can really tell the gem is a gem. :/
Currently thinking of what my final project is going to be. Any suggestions?
Tried another diamond this time without following the video... watching the videos and painting at the same time really help. I need to mentally know the structure of diamonds/gems to be able to paint them so that they look realistic.
Below is my final project. This was really difficult... I printed the real ring and didn't notice until I got home that it was very pixelated. It was really hard to see the shapes of the shadows and the highlights. I really enjoyed the process and can't wait to try some more! Ana, you never disappoint, thanks a bunch!
