Black Tea For a Dark Day

Today has been horribly gloomy and cold so I wanted to capture the darkness around me but at the same time I wanted to warm up. So I chose these key words for my inspiration: Black, Shadow & Warmth.

What really stood out to me in the lesson was the use of natural light. Luckily the grey weather outside created a very cool tone onto my counter top. I think the softness is quite beautiful.

Here I wanted the practice the "rule of three'- only having three things in the frame to keep it simple. I think it works!

The only problem with this last picture is that my nails aren't painted a dark color- next time I'll prepare a bit more in advance.
