I was commissioned to design a spread for a Ballet magazine.  The article was related to the dark force presence in Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.  I had the idea to developed a strong typographic work to reinforce the message and create an elegant yet striking textured spread. The final font looks complex, spooky and feathery which fits the brief and complement the message perfectly.  You can developed all sorts of typeface with this technique, it will all depend on the type of objects you use and how you duplicate, transform, juxtapose and alter the liquified shapes.

I've alway been fascinated by the picture editing super powers of the Liquify Filter in Photoshop.  Most people use it to make people more attractive and thin but I alway knew there was more to it. Initially, I use the Liquify tool by transforming geometric patterns into abstract textures.  Then I pushed the experiment further and started to liquify objects and turn them into textures.

I am passionate about Typography so I had the idea to apply the textures onto regular type letters, mixing liquified shapes with raw elements such as Photoshop brushes, 3D shapes or even hand drawn illustrations  and the results were most unexpected and outstanding.
