Bitter-sweet Orangina

Bitter-sweet Orangina - student project

Choosing the right poster was really really hard decision. I knew I wanted to learn something about gradients and textures as well. Thanks to my friend Lucia for showing me the Madsbergs work.

I know it might be too much for me, cause I'm really a beginner in Illustrator...but I like challenges :)

Day 1:

I've learned how to build shapes. L, A, M, P becomes my best friends as well as  shift+X and shift+M  :)

Working on those sunny hairs made me some new grey hairs on my head :)

I know it's pretty rough, I have a lot work to make those shapes perfect.

Day 2:

I played more with the hair, colors and gradients. I think it's a big improvement.

Day 3:

I have watched the Bitmap Textures video and I couldn't resist to try the color transparency feature. It's awesome!

Meanwhile I discovered the beauty of transparent gradient!

Then I moved to the core of the video - textures. At first I had a problem to find a nice hi-res texture, but then I've found exactly the same one as Brad used

This is what I did today. I'm still practicing with this, trying to make it routine.

BTW I love this class!

Day 4: Almost done!

I put most of the textures on. There are still some details, but i think it looks nice.
