Batsh*t Crazy 2.0

Thank you for introducing me to this technique. It took me a while to get my head around everything as I was working with a half-finished piece I had already digitised. The background isn't punched out so it took a lot of trial and error for me to get the hang of it.

I was so keen to try the technique, and the results are below, but I'm looking forward to coming back to the project and meeting the brief (fave app).

Original illustration (hand-drawn and vectorised for a Mary Kate McDevitt Skillshare project - I also cleaned up my original scan with a technique I learned from a Dina Rodriguez online tutorial):

I tried a couple of colour variations both with and without the drop-shadow, and varying the offset effect:

986f3331

74908176

I eventually realised that I could just show the knockout of some of the text:

I need to tweak around with some of the placement in my original illustration as the composition is off, but other than that I'm really pleased with the results. Thank you again, and apologies for recycling old art.
