Banana

So, this is actually the first Skillshare class where I've uploaded (or even completed) a project. Thanks for making a great class Jenn!

I decided to go with fruit for my theme (staying away from florals is hard!) and quickly drew these little things. I was itching to get to the vectorising and pattern making so I didn't really spend too long on the actual drawing/watercolour this time.

BTW, I am so glad I now know about these actions. They're life savers! Thank you Jenn!

First pattern - Bananas

Bananas are quite possibly my favourite fruit. The watercolour bananas looked the best out of my quick little sketches, so I stuck with them and ditched the rest of the fruit. I know it's not the most original pattern, but it was fun to do.

Second pattern - Blueberries

One of the things I struggle with when making patterns is making them look random, especially with dots and spots. I'll play with these blueberries a little more if I have time, and try to get the zig zag rivers out of this pattern.

Third pattern - More bananas

Not too sure how I feel about the darker background. I think it would be improved if I took the time to remove the colour bleed on the bananas.

I've really enjoyed this class and can't wait to do my next watercolour patterns! Next time I'll make more of an effort with the drawing and watercolour and make the original illustrations larger so I can get more details.
