Ball Head Guy

Ball Head Guy - student project

My master board. This was the most valuable part of the class. Getting to see all the parts of me together in one space really helped me understand a lot about myself and my creative process. Ball Head Guy - image 1 - student project

Some of the key parts of me that I uncovered with these boards:

Identity is important. Finding a sense of belonging amongst your tribe while still maintaining unique individuality is tough but, worth it.

My Blackness is important. It shaped a lot of who I am and my experiences growing up.

Other stuff that stood out: strong emotional connections, the (American) South, mysticism/ethereal/space, church/spirituality, masculinity/femininity, childlike fun, love, strong moody colors/lighting

As for Ball Head Guy:

Style Dice: 6 Yr Old Tattoo + Happy Accidents = Ball Head Guy. A guy that I have become completely obsessed with ever since

6 yr Old Tattoo: Fred the Barber from Courage the cowardly dog. A show that past and present me still loves. (The Fred episode was one that still gives me the creeps)

Happy Accidents: I randomly drew a guy with a ball head one time. That's it. Not sure why.

Added a gold grill cuz I'm from the (American) South - I like gold up in my mouth.

Now, this ball has worked it's way into almost everything I've drawn since. I mean EVERYTHING. Populating my world, I suppose... Ball Head Guy - image 2 - student projectBall Head Guy - image 3 - student projectBall Head Guy - image 4 - student projectBall Head Guy - image 5 - student projectBall Head Guy - image 6 - student projectBall Head Guy - image 7 - student projectBall Head Guy - image 8 - student projectBall Head Guy - image 9 - student projectBall Head Guy - image 10 - student project
