Bailamos Salsa Rueda

1/31/15

I am working on rebranding my mom's company: Bailamos Salsa Rueda. While I've done other graphic work before, this is my first time creating a full new brand language and would really appreciate any feedback. Below is the creative brief, mood board, and two directions I'm currently looking at for the logo. Let me know what you think!

CRETIVE BREIF

BACKGROUND
Bailamos Salsa Rueda teaches Salsa Rueda, a community-focused, social dance. BSR provides high quality teaching with a personal commitment to its students.

OBJECTIVE
Revamp the BSR image to bring in new clientele through presenting a cohesive and inviting image.
Portray dance class as a social outing and way to get moving.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Santa Cruz based men and women in their 20’s - 40’s, especially couples who want to learn together.

MESSAGE
Join an exciting new community where you can unwind while learning!

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
- Focus on the individual and ensure their progress
- Actively cultivate a dance community
- Variety of teachers/ teaching styles
- Varied curriculum, including multiple beginner levels

TONE
- Welcoming
- Genuine
- Committed

MOODBOARD:

We had initially planned on going with watercolor to subtly hint at movement, but I'm now leaning towards using bright colors and abstract shapes. The watercolor ties in with the more handwritten logo and the shapes fit better with the bolder logo on the right.

Looking forward to hearing what you guys think fits best with the goals of the creative brief / what looks better. Thanks!
