Bachelorette Party!

Hello :)

This is my first project I'm uploading to Skillshare... so I'm a bit nervous!

I've been practicing a little everyday, writing names of friends, quotes, and random combinations of letters. When I first started, I had a lot of trouble getting the line thickness that I wanted, and I kept splitting the nib and scraping along the page. After troubleshooting, I realized I was rolling the nib and really took the time to focus on ink flow and where I was angling. Now, I finally feel in control :)

(Pages on the left are some of my earlier trials and pages right are of most recent)

I really wanted to do something with my calligraphy, so designed a Bachelorette Party invite for my cousin Mandy. (she's getting married in July, and I'm one of her bridesmaids!!)

Here is the final product! I really happy with how it turned out, and I'm thinking about selling this invite in my etsy shop (theadoration.etsy.com)  What do you think?

I really loved how the word "Party" turned out. I can't wait to turn this transfer my calligraphy into more party invations!! Birthday Party, Dinner Party, Pool Party, Christmas Party??!? endless opportunities :)

Thank you, Bryn, so much for your inspiration and encouragement :)
