BOTB by Hellz Bellz | 2013 S/S Editorial Lookbook

FINAL PROJECT

My name is Terrell Johnson. I'm the Editor-in-Chief over at SWGRUS. As someone who pays close attention to trends that cater to men's streetwear, with this lookbook I wanted to switch focus on the inevitable lane that showcases women in a mostly male dominated arena that is known as femme streetwear as an ode to our very own instructor menswear photographer Tasha Bleu. I present you my final editorial lookbook for the femme streetwear brand BOTB by Hellz Bellz Summer 2013 Collection lookbook.

INSPIRATION / MOOD BOARD

The atmosphere of the brand HLZBLZ is very daring and unapologetic. I wanted to capture a sense of grittiness in the shoot but still showcase the 'girls just wanna fun' atmosphere in the lookbook. The elements that I mainly wanted to portray is the idea of rebel. Some of the imagery and icons I came across while researching femme streetwear stood out to me and I wanted to emulate the feeling the images evoked with my shoot for Hellz Bellz.

Some of the influences from these photos were my guidelines to where I wanted to go in the lookbook which can be seen in my moodboard below:

THE LOOKBOOK

The 2013 S/S Collection of BOTB editorial concludes as my first opportunity to shoot a clothing lookbook with the help from this amazing skillshare class which has helped me gain perspective into the mindframe of a professional photographer. This skillshare class made me take the initative to go out and purchase a DSLR camera after hearing about the opportunity especially to win a chance to shoot with Tasha Bleu (disappointingly missed out on that *insert sad face*)! Even if not chosen, I'd love to possibly work with the creatives behind the making and contribution to this class in the future.

The final shots presented are the best shots that I decided to showcase as the editorial lookbook.

CREDITS

I'd first and foremost want to thank Tasha Bleu for the introduction to not only this class but this awesome platform for creatives to learn.

I also want to thank Hellz Bellz for allowing me to use their clothing brand execute a lookbook for thier brand.
