12/21/2015: I spent a lot of time on this today. I spent a little bit too much time obsessing over where the facial features are placed (and it still looks wrong) so I'm going to set it down for today and look at it later with fresh eyes. I'll smooth it out and clean up the details then. :D

12/27/2015: Here are a few more WIP screenshots that I took - not from today, but from the past few days. I managed to get the features close to where I was happy with it.
