Totally new to Illustrator and excited to begin learning. Found this lovely Art Deco poster and think it has a good mix of organic shapes and straight lines to recreate.
Had some issues downloading the Illustrator trial, so have decided to use another programme and see how I get along. So far I am managing to 'translate' the commands and have started on the simplest shapes. The colour are not the same as the original, but I can change these later. I wanted to get working with the pen tool as this is something I have not really understood before. So far I am having a lot of fun!
Have started on the people and things are moving along. It is not an exact copy of the original, but I am using this the process to gain new skills, so giving a rough idea.
And we're getting there! Couldn't match the font, so ended up using the pen tool to form the letters. Not perfect and a little jittery, but a huge learning curve. Will keep playing with them and get them smooth and straighter.
