Update: March 31, 2016 @ 1:46PM PST

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the support. I just thought I'd let anyone interested know that I'm planning to launch my course tonight just before midnight. I'll update this project with a link after launching, and would obviously appreciate your support and review if you take it.

Sincerely,
Joel

PS: Here is a preview of one of the "milestones" I've sprinkled throughout the course.

Class Description

Draft #1

Do you have an idea for a mobile app? In this class, you'll learn how to get that idea out of your head and onto a real screen. Billions of people use apps every day, but most don't know where to start when they have an idea for a new app. This class will teach you how to take an idea for an app and turn it into a compelling mock that you can share with others!

The project will help you learn and apply the basics of color theory, typography, and app layouts, while giving you a better sense of common navigational elements and best practices.

Draft #2

Have you ever had an idea for a mobile app? How many times have you taken that idea and turned it into something real? The truth is: you don't have to program to share your idea with the world. In this course, you'll learn how to create a compelling visual "mock" of your app. This mock will help you understand your idea more deeply, clearly evaluate the pros and cons, and get better feedback from others.

I'll walk through my process for mocking up an app idea while guiding you through your project and giving you a quick taste of design fundamentals. This includes things like user empathy, user feedback, color, typography, navigational elements, hierarchy and much more. It will be a fun, creative, and efficient class that exposes you to the many dimensions of app design while creating something awesome.

It is designed with beginners in mind - I hope you'll join me!
