Anniversary Write On

My wife and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary earlier this year. I used one of our wedding pictures, did some handlettering, and had it printed on a little wood block as a gift to her. Since I had the lettering done, I thought it would be cool to use it for this class project.

I tried to animate the text both ways, in vector and raster formats. I went with the vector approach because I already had the outlines from Illustrator. I wanted a bit of weathered texture on the script, so I precomped the animation and added a Photoshop file of a texture with a transparent background above the script. I set the track matte to Alpha Inverted Matte and lowered the texture's opacity to 75%. Pretty much everything else was following Jake's examples and some trial and error.

Hope you like it.

It was a fun and challenging class, and I am really pleased with the final product.
