And thousands upon thousands made an ocean...

I'm using this class project to create a gift for my husband for our anniversary in Novemeber.

We met while we were both living in Australia on a holiday-work visa. Needless to say, sparks flew and I returned home a very much in love and glowing pregnant me!

I am using a phrase from the song "Transatlanticism" by Death Cab for Cutie.

"And thousands upon thousands made an ocean".

I used to play this song a lot while i was pregnant with my daughter. My now husband and I were separated for the majority of my pregnancy. It was one of the toughest times of my life and in a way, I think writing all the snail mail that i did to my husband is what saved me. So I'd like to create a vintage stamp that reflects our time traveling in Australia, the sun & the ocean. Luckily, the scenery in Australia is filled with lots of nature goodness so finding inspiration won't be hard.

I'm attracted to the aboriginal artwork of Australia because it's full of color, detail using simple & bold shapes and the overall look of it. I'm unsure of the typography as I haven't dug too much into it yet... stay tuned! Any and all suggestions welcome!
