Get inspired, create, inspire, repeat.

An evening in The City (San Francisco)

My name is Neil Mortensen. I live in Concord, California, which is about half an hour east of San Francisco. I love going to The City to shoot photos and ultimately shoot landscapes of everything from urban to nature. Lately I've been a bit uninspired to shoot. As I was scrolling through my Instagram feed I saw the photo Trashhand posted about a free online class for street photography. I immediately signed up and started watching the videos. I thought it was the coolest thing ever that there is a rad photographer out there like Trashand that is willing to show people he shoots and edits. I literally watched four or five videos before I hastily packed up my camera equipment and jumped on the BART train, headed for The City. I've been to The City many times before but realized that the bulk of my photos are landscapes. I've seen look-ups and the other styles in the class assignment before but never felt inspired enough to experiment with them. As soon as I got off the train and onto the streets I started seeing photos everywhere. I was surrounded by look-ups, street portraits, and of course motion-blur shots. These are just a few photos from my inspiring trip to San Francisco. I hope you can get inspired too. Thank you, Trashhand, for inspiring me and helping me realize my love for street photography. Hope you enjoy- If you'd like to see more, follow me on Instagram @neil_mortensen
