An Ecstatic Patron Of Recurrent Light

I decided to do a quote from The Great Gatsby since I've been really in to both Fitzgerald and the era in general, lately. IAfter a bit of debating over what was good and what was just too cliche I decided to use this line, which I absoutely adore.

"When he realized what I was talking about, that there were twinkle-bells of sunshine in the room, he smiled like a weather man, like an ecstatic patron of recurrent light, and repeated the news to Daisy. “What do you think of that? It’s stopped raining.”

I chose it because I really love that line and I feel like it was such a great way to describe Gatsby, espacially in the way of Gatsby's love for Daisy. I love how the whole chapter was bouncing around with light similies, even though it was raining the day of. It really showcased, I think, Gatsby's personality around Daisy, and the way that his love for Daisy made him.

On 12.6.13:

I made my list;

and a bit of an inspiration board;

For colours I'm thinking a lot of green and golds--green, obviously for Gatsby's light, and golds because it's such an extravagent colour, and it's a very 20's feeling colour to me.

I can't wait to get started on sketching it!
