Alaska

Three years ago I married my beaitful bride Esther in her homestate - Alaska.  Ever since that special day we've been making an annual trip to the last frontier for the Christmas season - spending time with family and friends in the south central area.  Of course being in Alaska you cant help but find new places off the beaten path to venture out and explore. This year is no exeption.

Having finished up Cory's new class I figured we'd hike out to a few new locations and try implementing some of his tecniques. We hit the ground running with a trip out to Eklutna lake, South Fork falls, and snowshoed out to Matanuska Glacier - Alaska's largest 21mile long glacier.

The following pics were edited in Snapseed, Filterstrom, and VSCOcam.

Thanks for taking a look: @philipleclerc

Our first stop was out on Eklutna lake - one of Alaska's many glacier fed lakes which also happened to be covered in beautiful ice crystals blaketed in a thin layer of snow.

Next stop was up to South fork Falls. We followed along these frigid waters as we made the short hike up to the falls.

Matanuska Glacier.

Exporing ice caves at the big Matanuska. Because this partucular cave wasnt especially deep, I ended up having to use panorama function to capture more of walls in the image.
