1. List all major “players” in the system (eg. a marketplace may have two major players: buyers & sellers)

2. List out any selfish reasons why each player would need their contacts/friends to join the service

a. gift initiators - want to have a successful group gift with lots of participants (internal motivation), want to be the coordinator for their friend (recipient), recognition from wider friend group (external) that they are good at coordinating group gifts

b. gift contributors - want to participate in a group gift, want to do something nice for recipient, want a successful group gift with lots of participants

c. gift recipients - want friends to participate in their gift so they receive bigger ticket items instead of a bunch of small things

d. gift seller/retailer - advertising to a group of friends, additional product sales of higher margin products, new customer acquisition

3. List out all things you could possibly charge each player for on the service

a. gift initiators - percentage fee on contribution

b. gift contributors - percentage fee on contribution

c. gift recipient - percentage fee from final gift (total contributions - contribution fees)

d. gift seller/retailer - cost of featuring products/advertising, percentage of margin

4. For 2 and 3 above give a very short reason you think the player would be motivated to need their contact or pay for the service

a. gift initiators - they can also give a gift they normally couldnt afford with the help of their friends, its a pain to coordinate a group gift traditionally and they risk not getting paid back.

b. gift contributors - their small contribution goes a long way with a group gift, they don't need to spend the time and effort necessary to pick something nice since the initator has already done so

c. gift recipient - receiving a gift from all of their closest friends

d. gift seller/retailer - ability to reach a high quality demographic with advertising, additional product sales
