Your techniques of observational vs ideation drawing modes were super helpful. I often struggle to simplify/stylise my work and it's something I'm trying to finetune as I focus more on illustrative work. The advice on iteration was a great reminder too, as well as sketching with confident continuous line, as soon as you said it, I realised I've always sketched really vaguely with hesitant strokes. It made such a difference and it's something I'll be taking with me moving forward.
I did attempt to follow your photoshop process and practice something outside my comfort zone, but after over a decade working in Illustrator, it felt more natural and expedient to make the finished art there.
