A Thousand Wishes | Illustrator Basics

A Thousand Wishes | Illustrator Basics - student project

I used to hate the pen tool as I always get rough edges and I can't keep smoothness, but thanks for your great tips Dylan I can control it even better, and I really loved the clock theory, applying it actually made a huge difference.

The first thoughts that came across my mind, after hearing "Magic Potion" was fairy tales, witches, and all these Disney movies with all the magical influences in our childhood. Aladdin was my favorite so I inspired the whole design from its story.

What if there's a magic potion in a glass - lamb looking - bottle with a magical liquid, that you can drink and wish, and then all the things you want can come true instead of a genie - Though genies are so still way cooler but let's just imagine :) -

So I drew this sketch to make a general idea about what I really want.

After I made my outlines, I decided that I want a glassy, kind of a modern lamb, with a transparency that allows me to look at the magical liquid and keep the sandy looking color of the lamb at the same time, so I played with textures till I reached my final design.
