A Couch from the Seventies.

A Couch from the Seventies. - student project

Ahh! This was so much fun!!

Here are some of my preliminary doodles/sketches. I love the advice that Elizabeth gave to draw with an actual sketchbook, but I was far too antsy to get started to do that. Ha ha. So I just created some floral looking things right in Illustrator using the shapebuilder tools.

Then I just fit everything together, much like she showed in the tutorial.

After fixing up all the edges so it repeats nicely, and playing with some color palettes, I settled on these two as my favorites. And I tried many different combinations of the colors in these palettes.

Then I went a little crazy, and made these "collections". I think some of the blender and secondary prints were less successful than others, but I would love to spend some more time on these.

And then, I completely went off the deep end and made this one. I kind of want curtains in this print.

Thanks for an awesome class!!!!!!!
