A Collection of Writers' Thoughts

I am a writer. I work in publishing in NYC as an editorial assistant. I am trying to figure out what I want to do both "career wise" and "writing wise", ideally they would be connected, but they don't have to be. I am very interested in literature and "literary culture".

Like many people, I am very inspired by quotes. When I am feeling particularly unsure, bored, excited, etc., I love reading or hearing other peoples' thoughts related to what I am thinking about. So, that means I like reading interviews with writers, reading writers' work, reading quotes by famous (and not so famous) writers and other artists.

On my personal blog, I often post quotes. As I was trying to think of what I wanted to do for this project, I thought back to these things, and thus came up with a sort of "quote book". We'll see how it works! :)

At the moment, I am interested in the idea of making what I first thought of as a "quote book", more like a scrapbook, focusing more on text than on image, perhaps only having text. But that may be too bland. I'd love to try and make the text look like it was "cut out" and "pasted" on the pages. Wonder if I can make that happen...

As you will see, by the end of my project, I went back to the "quote book" idea. Originally, I had images along with the quotes. Now, as you'll see, I stuck to blocks of color to go along with the text, which overall I think was a good decision.

This has been a great way to learn about InDesign. Thank you Anne and classmates!
