5. TREEHOUSE

Oh my gosh, this is by far my favorite exercise so far! I want to draw more of these! I also want to live here. :)

4. SOMETHING FLYING

Eh, not as happy with this one…. It feels a little half baked, I’m not really sure what it’s missing or what I could do to kind of fill it up a bit more. I like the concept just not the execution lol. Anyway, on to the next one! :)

 3. GROUP OF ICONS

7 Creative Exercises (1,2,3,4,5) in progress - image 3 - student projectIt took me a while to decide on a theme for this exercise. I am a barista so I took inspiration from that. I ended up choosing pretty warm colors even though I was picturing something different. I feel like this even further proves that I should just start sometimes instead of overthinking it.

 2.TATTOOS!!!

7 Creative Exercises (1,2,3,4,5) in progress - image 4 - student projectThis was a challenging and fun project! I depicted only some of my tattoos here. Some of the ones I chose certain elements to sketch and some of them I kept it pretty straightforward. What a fun journey. My tattoos mean a lot to me and this took me on a little walk down memory lane, and now I want a tattoo :) Also, I kind of struggled with placement, so I decided to keep the tattoos as sort of stickers or maybe sketches taped onto a flat surface? At one time, I spent a lot of time in tattoo shops and around tattooers, and something that sticks out in my mind is sketches of various tattoos on vellum paper taped all over everything.

1. BLOB MONSTERS

7 Creative Exercises (1,2,3,4,5) in progress - image 5 - student project

I really loved this exercise so much that I spent a couple days on it. I enjoyed just having fun and not worrying about the final product or whether or not these would be realistic. I can be a bit of a perfectionist so this was nice to loosen up and have fun.
I am sharing a few different pages I did and also a little illustration that came out of one. I am using Procreate, hope that’s ok!
