In this course, we'll learn the basics of modeling in a parametric 3D modeler such as Pro/E or SolidWorks.
We'll use sketches, extrustions, revolves and extruded and revolved cuts to make solid shapes, and add chamfers or rounds.
After making a few simple solid shapes, we'll produce 2D drawings with orthographic views, that can convey the shape of your 3D parts without 3D files. 3D CAD allows you to produce shop drawings that are perfectly accurate without needing to redraw your part.
Once we have a few more basic solid parts, we'll put them together in an assembly, and learn how parts in an assembly are constrained to one another.
