100 days of sketching historical costumes

100 days of sketching historical costumes - student project

I have always had an intense love and interest in fashion history and historical costumes. I have just gotten back into sketching and drawing and think this could be a cool way to do it. I also want to improve my use of colour and I think this will be a cool way to play around with this

The Plan:

-9 Dresses per historical Era

-Either live sketch OR trace/colour in from fashion prints (maybe start with tracing and then moving to live sketching once I'm more confident)

-30 minutes in the evening

Before I Start:

-Pick my first era/location

-Create a pintrest and add a bunch of fashion plates

-Make a instagram account for it

EDIT-

Am so slow....spent 2 hours and didn't even finish my first sketch...may need to switch things up. (This is definitely unfinished)

Day 2: tidying up some of the drawing

Day 3- A super rough 30 minute sketch. I don't think I will stay with keeping to one time period as I can always organise afterwards. I did quite a bit of research for my masterson fads in the late 19th century so liked this more casual photo of some women showing off their bikes. 100 days of sketching historical costumes - image 3 - student project-
