100 Days of Flowers

100 Days of Flowers - student project

I've been an artist all my life, but I've also spent many of my working days as a floral designer. I've chosen to do 100 Days of Flowers.

Each day, I will create a flower in any medium or style I choose.

Pencil, Colored Pencil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Ink, Oil Pastel, Pastel, Marker, Ceramic, Paper, found materials such as moss and wood. Whatever inspires me that day and works with availability of time and supplies. Etc.

I can keep it fresh this way, since it's 100 days worth of flowers. Also a choice of artistic style should keep the project open enough to keep me engaged and my creativity flowing.

Steampunk, Art Deco, Botanical Print, Graphitti, Anime, Naturalistic, Pointilism, Pop Art, Surrealist, Cubist, Impressionist, Expressionist, Art Noveau, Abstract, simple draw what you see. Whatever inspires. Etc.

I will also choose a different flower each day using floral encyclopedias and databases, image searches and books.

For day number 1, I'm keeping it simple. Beginning with an orchid book I own, I chose the first labeled picture and am doing a pencil sketch. I love orchids. They're one of, if not my VERY favorite flower.

We'll see what day 2 brings.
