100 Days of Developing an OC

Whenever I see other people share posts of their original characters online I always think "Wow I wish I could come up with a character with that much thought behind it". And so, that is what I am going to do for my project!

I plan to flesh out my character mainly through drawings in a sketchbook (this will help me use up some of the paper I've been hoarding lol). I might also make some physical items that the character would own i.e. a jewelry piece, a diary, etc.

I really enjoy fantasy and stories related to magic, so I am going to use the idea of "a witch" as my starting point.

I debated giving myself a time limit for what I create each day but decided against it. At least for now. I may change my mind as I make progress with the project. One of the main things that keeps me from enjoying creating is this constant feeling I have to need to rush everything. I don't want to go into this with a specific time limit in mind because if there are days where I am fully immersed in creating, I don't want to feel like I have to rush. That being said, I'm also not going to expect myself to spend large amounts of time on each day. That's not realistic for me.

I'm going to create a Pinterest board with inspiration, I find that this is usually very helpful for sparking ideas in my mind. Pinterest board aside, here are a few ideas of what I currently want to draw out/create for my character:

What might be in her bag

What does her phone look like. What apps does she use?

What are her likes and dislikes? Drawn sort of as a "monthly favorites" kind of thing maybe.

Clothes

Spells she uses/knows/how did she get into magic

What does her house look like? What are the things inside?

What pets does she have?

I'll add pictures and updates to this post as I work on the project :)
