I really enjoyed this project; I felt more and more inspired with each video.
As I was doing this, all i could think of was other ways I could apply this gradient/effect, even though playing around with the initial shape I found very satisfying in itself. It's such a wonderful way to use illustrator and photoshop to create some unique art.
In the end, I remembered a photo of my girlfriend that I love, taken with my camera by her father on a visit to her home in the south of Spain earlier this year. I suddenly had thought: "what would this look like if I used it as a second exposure with a photograph.
This is basically the result. I feel like there's still a lot more I can do with this, but I am happy with how the combination turned out and I am going to continue experimenting with other photos and other similar effects.
I apologize if this has missed the point of the project slightly (haha). I think of these classes as an opportunity to experiment, and that's what I've done.
