"The New Recruit"

Still wearing the clothes he ran away from home in (plus one of his mother's earrings for good luck), life on a ship is all Wally ever dreamed of. But when the the captain of his ship brings a curse down on the crew, he finds his optimism and eagerness may get him into more trouble than he bargained for.

  • Got some shapes in before bed - really liking how they're turning out. Hoping to have turnarounds available by the end of this... (I'll also be using a better camera from now on)

  • More shapes, more drawings - even managed to get some environment work done. Really liking how the shapes are working out, now all I need to do is choose one...

  • Probably got a little too bogged down with character sketches. Did a little more research on shapes/references, and came up with a final character. (NOTE: After reading the project guide again I may have jumped the gun...but here's a color test - let me know what you think!)

  • Spent the last few days building shapes and rendering everything. Probably should have posted some screenshots...but I kind of pushed all the way through it. Patterns came from the Illustrator libraries, and the brushes were from this class.
