Have you ever wondered how the characters and settings from your favorite childhood stories originally came to life? On Friday, May 22nd at 3pm EDT, Skillshare Premium Members are invited to join us for a live online Zoom session with illustrator and cartoonist Ira Marcks all about drawing and sketching for stories! In this special event, Ira will welcome us into his fantastical world and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process that fuels his comics and graphic novels.

The session will run for approximately 45 minutes and is perfect for the whole family. Click the “Remind Me” button above to register!

Ira Marcks is a cartoonist and author. His books include the graphic novel, Witch Knots, an illustrated adventure book, The Aquarium Drift, a webcomic collaboration with the European Research Council on future tech, The Exploit, and a kid's guide to artistic careers, Creative Every Day. His Skillshare classes on illustration, concept art, and cartooning have reached over 35,000 students.

Throughout the live class, you’ll be encouraged to work alongside Ira on your own story ideas and drawings, so feel free to bring your favorite sketching tools — pen and paper, or a tablet. You’ll also have the chance to ask Ira questions along the way. We look forward to seeing you soon!
