Create unique animal illustrations inspired by neon signs!

Skillshare Premium Members are invited to join us on Friday, January 29th at 3:00 PM CET (9:00 AM EST) for a live online Zoom session with illustrator Andreas Preis all about how he created the animals in his “Neon Jungle” series. The session will run for approximately 60 minutes. Click the “Remind Me” button above to register!

Andreas Preis is a designer, illustrator & artist, currently living and working in Berlin. He’s dreamed of being a “painter without a boss” since he was 5 years old, and has worked with a variety of brands, including adidas, Adobe, Coke, DC Comics, ESPN, Google, and so many more. His skill set includes illustration, murals, tape art, and live paintings as well as the different areas of traditional communications design like typography, logo design, icon design, and art direction. He’s recently become inspired to start sharing his skills with others, launching his first Skillshare class (with many more hopefully to follow).

This live session will include:

  • An exploration of how Andreas created the unique neon-inspired animal illustrations that he created for his 2021 calendar
  • A technical walkthrough of how you can create a neon animal of your own, from sketch to creating the vector in Adobe Fresco to taking it into Photoshop to add the unique neon glow
  • A chance to peek behind the curtain and see Andreas’ workflow as a professional illustrator

This class will be ideal for students who have access to Adobe Fresco and Adobe Photoshop, though you are certainly welcome to join us and be inspired by Andreas’ process no matter what! Andreas will be providing a sketch for everyone to work from, or you’re free to bring an animal sketch of your own to turn into a neon masterpiece. Throughout the session, you’ll be encouraged to work alongside Andreas and ask questions. Feel free to add questions in advance of the event using the discussion forum below, or bring them live to the Zoom session. We look forward to seeing you soon!
