Your Class Project

Your class project is divided into two parts, with the second one being optional—but highly encouraged if you want to take your artwork even further.

Start by Downloading Your Class Resources to Complete Your Project

PART 1: Paint Your Botanical Elements

You’ll start by painting a beautiful set of watercolor roses, leaves, and small plants in Procreate. As you follow the lessons, you’ll learn essential watercolor techniques like soft washes, wet-on-wet blending, and layering shadows to create depth and vibrancy.

By toggling different layers on and off, you’ll be able to achieve various styles—some with a loose, expressive watercolor look, while others appear more detailed and refined. I’d love to see both versions if you experiment with them!

Once your botanical elements are ready, I’ll show you how to use the glazing technique to modify colors, creating different variations for seasonal themes or alternative color palettes. If you try it out, be sure to share your results!

At the end of this first part, you’ll have a collection of individual botanical assets saved as PNG images in your Procreate Image Library, ready to use in future designs.

PART 2 (Optional) - Create a Final Composition

In this step, you’ll bring all your painted elements together into a final composition that reflects your unique style. Play around with different layouts, color variations, and background choices to make your design stand out.

To add an extra creative touch, I’ve provided four inspirational quotes that you can incorporate into your artwork if you'd like!

Steps for Creating & Sharing Your Project

Paint Your Botanical Elements

Follow the step-by-step lessons to paint watercolor roses, leaves, and plants in Procreate.
At the beginning of each lesson, you’ll see a real-life watercolor demonstration to help you understand how pigments behave so you can replicate the effect digitally.
Experiment with loose vs. detailed painting styles to create different effects.
Try out the glazing technique and explore color variations for different moods and seasons.

Create Your Final Composition (Optional)

Arrange your botanical elements into a final design.
Incorporate one of the provided quotes or add your own.
Experiment with different layouts, background colors, and compositions to make it truly yours!

Uploading Your Project

Once you're done, upload your project to the class gallery! You can share:
- Your individual roses, leaves, and small plants
- Variations using the glazing technique
- Your final composition
