Watercolour Sketchbook Journaling

I painted big tree by the lake near my house. I think it is a willow tree. I love its draping branches and leaves and how the path leads people to walk under it. In the winter only the draping stems remain; I will paint this tree again in winter (it’s summer now in Australia (Dec 2022)). This is a great way to keep record of how the trees change with season. I sketched with pencil then painted with watercolour.
I sketched my plant with fountain pen that has waterproof ink. Then I used Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils to colour it and painted over with water and brush. These 8 pencils are new so I tried every colour on my sketch haha. I find recording my plants this way is great because if they die or grow, I have this painting to remember how it looked originally.
