I first had a macaron at a company party, but didn't fall in love with them till I ate them in Paris. I wanted to learn how to make them because I knew they would be a challenge, and I love to learn new things. My filling is just a raspberry buttercream. Next time I will work more on the color of the shells. I only had a terracotta food gel color to use, so they are a bit more orange than I'd like.
