My own take of this task
I'm combining this task with one for a different class, and I'm playing around with washi tape backgrounds that I glue my little illustrations on.

I flipped the layout so the circles are on the right. On the left is my composition plan for the main picture, which I wanted to have as part of the layout.
Since I accidently glued the half-circles down off-center, I tried to balance this out and make it look intentional:
