I added some additional art and nature to the space and tried to create a more clear color palette. I felt that there was already some juxtaposition with the mix of old and new and of neutral natural elements and shiny pops of brass. I added an extra pillow to the sofa and an extra blanket to the blanket ladder for more textiles and patterns. I also added the basket and pillow as that corner felt unbalanced with only the blanket ladder. I didn't purchase anything for this project, I just moved around things I already had in my home. I'd love to purchase new pillows, new art, and a new ottoman for the space, and maybe replace one of the throw blankets. I'd also love to paint the space, but may consider doing an accent wall on the opposite side of the room rather than painting the wall shown, I'd like to do a blue similar to the tone of the sofa but a bit darker and I think that would look better on the opposite wall so the sofa doesn't blend in.
