I need a logo for my homemade jams and other products and for my existence a skillshare teacher.
So I wrote down the brand "eat-paint-love" and brainstormed whicht images could fit with it. I decided to try it with a fork, a whisk and two different types of brushes. I drew them using a pencil and then inked them.
Unfortunately I do not have a scanner, but taking a photo also works quite well. I imported them into illustrator and traced them. In the first try I chose the wrong tracing options and I could not create a compound path with my drafts. So I started over and traced everything again. It was a good choice, because it came out better and I used the pen tool, to remove some of the anchor points and get a smoother look.
First I wanted to have a watercolor heart behind my text and icons, but as I do not have unlimited space on my jam jars and I don't have the time to edit a watercolor heart perfectly, I decided to go with a space and time saving layout using your watercolor texture.
I don't want to tell you which is my favourite layout first, but would be very greatful about a feedback first! ;)
First draft, I had to discard:
Second draft with the optimized tracing results:
Oh, now as I post this here I realized that I didn't do the whole assignment, as I forgot to include a tag line... :(
Anyway, what do you think?
Here is how I placed the logo on my homemade jams for the Christmas market:
