Don't get hung up

Don't get hung up - student project

Back story

All year long, I've been struggling to find the one thing I really want to pursue. Everyone else seems to know where they're going and I'm here running in circles. As a result, I've held myself back from pursuing anything at all. Whether it be comparison, fear, or insecurity, this year was all just (negative) thinking. No more getting hung up in minor details. Next year, or rather, from now on, will be all about making. Thanks for the inspiring lesson, Timothy and Jessica.

Process

Pretty old clothespins I never put to use.

Got to skip a step because the backs were already this pretty blue colour.

When deciding between, "we're just hanging out","hang out with me, "i'm so hung up", and "don't get hung up", I chose the last one as, for me, personally, it held the most power. No more complaints or excuses, I wanted a statement that would push me forward.

I'm not normally one for process but thank goodness I took the time to figure out how I wanted it to look - this step took awhile. Numerous drafts not pictured.

Went with simple lettering with flourishes on the vowels.
