This class really challenged me. I think the hardest of the techniques was wet on wet. Layering colors to make gradients is very difficult if you make a base painting--the water activates the gouache too much to maintain smooth blends. I ended up reworking the same fruit several times before I was satisfied. I also practiced this on what must be some form of drawing paper. It definitely felt like the gouache was sitting on top of the paper and not absorbing. I think I might need to get a hot-press paper journal for practice work.
