Create a surreal work of art from an everyday image.
ASSIGNMENT
Take a photo of a place, a structure, or an object you see everyday, and use my list of illusion techniques to make a surreal, fantastical piece of art by manipulating those photos. You will work with either a still life, an architectural image, or an image of the sky to create a final piece that looks beautifully impossible. You will work between multiple photos within an editing app, and learn to make critical decisions based upon aesthetics and concept to create a work of art.
DELIVERABLE
Upload a surreal work of art manipulated from a photo you captured. A finished project includes:
- Either an Architectural, Still Life, or Big Sky image.
- At least one manipulation.
- Brief description of your final image.
Note: It is helpful for you to share progress in the project gallery too! I encourage you to upload the raw photos that lead up to your final work.
RESOURCES
- Photoshop Express is my favorite editing and manipulation tool.
- SKRWT is a great editing app for photo alignment.
- VSCO Cam is my favorite all-around editing app.
