Open a session with a kick drum
Open a bass instrument in same session
Select a basic equalizer(preferably channel eq in Logic Pro X)
Follow the steps that I showed on screen, equalizing both instruments
Keep listening over and over for small changes to train the ear.(raise your output volume safely, if you need to, so you can hear small changes)
Save your progress as you progress
Follow the equalizing that I do for the bass and kick
Practise this with different types of instruments
