Watercolor lettering - first attempts

Watercolor lettering - first attempts - student project

Many thanks Peggy for this class ! I started hand lettering few weeks ago, but I have only been using brush pens until now. I've always wanted to try with watercolor and finding your class was the starting point I needed !

*/ I first started by practicing my letters one by one, to see how the watercolor blends and how my brush is reacting. I think starting with the alphabet is really a good practicing exercise.

**/ Then I started practicing entire words.

***/ I finally practiced blending my watercolors and tried full sentences with different ones.

Thanks again for this class and this project, which was really fun to create. I'll definitely practice more and experiment with different tools. I used Colorex liquid watercolors for this project, and a very old brush I found.
